Applicants must be sponsored by two attorneys who are both members in good standing with the State Bar of Georgia and the Bar of the United States District Court for the Northern District of Georgia. If you are participating in a Mass Admission Ceremony, you will not need to provide the Attorney Moving for Admission data below, only the second sponsoring attorney data is required.

If the answer to either (A) or (B) above is YES, you must provide an explanation for each offense including the nature of the offense, the name of the court, the disposition (including punishment, if any), the dates on which the charges were brought and adjudicated, and any subsequent history relating to the charges. When you complete this process and your application is created, a separate page will be created for this purpose. This information must be brought with you when you come to Court for your admission proceedings.

If you answered YES to the above question, you must provide an explanation for each offense including the name of the jurisdiction or court imposing the discipline, the date of the discipline, the nature of the discipline, the nature of the offense for which the discipline was imposed, and any other information you deem appropriate. When you complete this process and your application is created, a separate page will be created for this purpose. This information must be brought with you when you come to Court for your admission proceedings.

Once you have completed this Application creation process, you will be required to appear at one of our divisional courthouses for admission proceedings. In Atlanta, admissions proceedings are conducted every Monday morning. In the event that Monday is a holiday, no proceedings will be held and will resume the following Monday. In Gainesville, Newnan, and Rome, proceedings are not conducted weekly and you must call in advance for an appearance date. If you select the Atlanta division, you will be assigned a date to appear for your proceedings when you complete this process.

Members of the Bar of the Northern District of Georgia are required to file pleadings electronically with the CM/ECF system. As part of the admission process, you will be issued a login and password to the CM/ECF system. As a CM/ECF registered user, the attorney will have privileges to electronically file and view documents, view official docket sheets, and query various reports for cases in the ECF system. Users of the ECF system must comply with the Federal Rules of Civil & Criminal Procedure, the Local Rules, including the Standing Order and procedures in Appendix H, and all administrative orders and policies of the United States District Court for the Northern District of Georgia.

You also consent to receiving notice of filings pursuant to the Federal Rules of Civil Procedure and the Federal Rules of Criminal Procedure via the Electronic Case Filing system.
